Danny & Emily’s words
Hello, welcome to Vintage 2024. The next chapter in our journey, shaped by the ever-changing seasons here in West Sussex.
This year's harvest tells a very different story to 2023. A cooler, wetter spring slowed everything down. Flowers arrived later, forage was harder to come by, and our bees had a much smaller window to gather nectar.
The result? From the same hives at Loxwood Meadow, we harvested half of the honey than the year before. A reminder that every season is different, and that nature is never quite predictable.
Yet despite the challenges, the bees created something beautiful. The honey from this harvest is delicate and expressive, with notes of mango, green melon, elderflower and chamomile. It captures the character of a season that unfolded at its own pace.
As ever, our approach has remained simple: work closely with the bees, stay in tune with the land, and let nature guide us. Every harvest teaches us something new.
Vintage 2024 also marks the end of this chapter for now. As our journey evolves, we are turning our attention towards growing our honey production and the landscapes that support it. That makes this release particularly special – a final vintage from this first era of Loxwood Meadow.
Thank you for being part of the story so far, and for supporting our bees, our meadow, and everything they make possible.
With love,

Where it all began
Loxwood Joust
It was at the heart of the Loxwood Joust—a medieval festival nestled in the rolling hills of West Sussex—that Danny’s fascination with mead took root. His passion for this age-old drink soon led him to Emily, a sommelier with a shared vision. Together, they embarked on a journey to breathe new life into honey wine, crafting a collection that blends tradition with a fresh, modern touch.
