Danny & Emily’s words
Hello, Welcome to Vintage 2023. The next step in our journey, shaped by the steady rhythm of our honeybees and the ever-changing seasons here in West Sussex.
This year’s harvest is a story of resilience and reward. A cooler spring gave our colonies a slow start, but what followed was one of the warmest, most nectar-rich summers - ideal conditions for bees to thrive. Long spells of dry, warm weather brought strong forage and consistent flying days, allowing the bees to do what they do best.
The result? From our same hives at Loxwood Meadow, we yielded more than double what we did in 2022. A clear reminder that when the weather aligns, nature responds with abundance.
As ever, our approach has remained simple: work closely with the bees, stay in tune with the land, and let nature guide us. The honey they’ve created this year is brighter and fruitier, with notes of honeysuckle and jasmine. It reflects the richness of the meadow in bloom and the warmth of late summer sun.
Like our honey wines, this marks the beginning of an annual tradition: a small batch, never blended, each vintage bottled with care and intention.
Thank you for being part of this with us.
With love,

Where it all began
Loxwood Joust
It was at the heart of the Loxwood Joust—a medieval festival nestled in the rolling hills of West Sussex—that Danny’s fascination with mead took root. His passion for this age-old drink soon led him to Emily, a sommelier with a shared vision. Together, they embarked on a journey to breathe new life into honey wine, crafting a collection that blends tradition with a fresh, modern touch.
