The Story of the Season
Every vintage tells a story. A story of the seasons, the landscape, the flowers in bloom, and the bees that travelled between them. Unlike grape wine, which reflects a particular terroir, honey wine captures an entire ecosystem.
Born from the same thriving ecosystem at Loxwood Meadow, the 2024 season unfolded differently. A cooler, unsettled spring slowed the rhythm of the hive, narrowing the window for forage and bloom. This resulted in a smaller, more concentrated harvest.
Crafted in a gently sweeter style, this vintage preserves the honey’s delicate fruity and floral character, offering a softer, more rounded expression. Vintage 24 represents another chapter in our mission to showcase the remarkable complexity and provenance of English honey wine
What Makes it a Vintage Honey Wine
Many people are familiar with vintage wines, but fewer realise that Honey Wine can be vintage too.
Each year brings different weather conditions, flowering patterns, and nectar flows. These subtle changes influence the honey produced by our bees, creating distinctive characteristics that can never be exactly replicated.
Vintage 24 is a reflection of a single year's harvest at Loxwood and the natural rhythms that shaped it.
Palate
Vintage 24 has an elegant expression of mango and green melon, layered with elderflower and chamomile. Spring honey brings a soft, creamy floral character, balanced by a vibrant lift of citrus.
Drink it with
Pairs beautifully with goats cheese and honey, burrata with tomatoes, or grilled prawns with citrus and herbs, and compliments desserts such as lemon tart or poached peaches.
A Limited Expression of Sussex
